2026 is For Farming

❄️ January 2026 ❄️
Hey Growers,
A new year always brings a natural urge to do more, build faster, and say yes to everything. This January, I’m choosing something different. I’m choosing focus.
2026 is about farming first.
That means putting my energy into the land, the animals, and the systems that create a strong foundation for everything that follows. It means fencing before finishes. Pastures before programming. Care before scale.
Over the past year, Farm in Broome has grown in vision, community, and momentum. This winter is about translating that momentum into thoughtful action. The work ahead is practical and deeply grounding. Improving grazing. Expanding egg production. Introducing rabbits. Preparing the land for future lambs. Creating simple, intentional stays that respect the farm's pace rather than interrupt it.
This focus is intentional. Farming well takes patience, repetition, and presence. It asks you to listen more than you push. To notice what’s working and what needs time. To build slowly so what’s built can last.
2026 will still include welcoming guests, sharing meals, gathering around fires, and opening the gates in meaningful ways. But those moments will grow out of the work of the farm, not the other way around.
Thank you for being part of this journey, for cheering on the quiet seasons as much as the visible ones, and for believing in a slower, more rooted way of building something that matters.
Here’s to a year of steady hands, open fields, and focus on what truly grows.
Rest. Reflect. Grow.
Steven

New Developments in 2026
The farm is entering a new season of becoming. This is the year the house begins to rise from the land, beam by beam, turning long-held plans into walls, windows, and a place to truly call home (take a look at the house tour). A greenhouse will soon stretch toward the sun, giving us space to grow through every season, not just the easy ones (see the greenhouse and our full breakdown here). New chicks have arrived, filling the mornings with fresh energy and reminding us how renewal often comes in the smallest, softest forms (getting the chicks and watching them begin in the incubator). And through our Rooted in Kindness video series, we’ll be sharing the stories that tie it all together—the people, the memories, and the love that continues to shape this land (watch the series here). Each step forward feels grounded in intention, care, and the belief that what we’re building here is meant to be shared.

A gentle reminder that Rooted in Kindness is always here—our digital storefront where you can honor someone you love by creating a living tribute on the farm. From trees and benches to birdhouses and animal treats, each dedication becomes part of the land. You can explore the collection anytime on our website.
