Looking Back, Growing Forward

❄️ December 2025 ❄️

Hey Growers,

This year began under bright lights and loud music. January opened in Las Vegas with some of my closest friends inside the Sphere, dancing to songs that shaped our bond. That night wasn’t just about music. It reminded me that friendship is a living thing. It grows when we show up for each other and when we let ourselves be free. The energy of that night stayed with me, guiding how I wanted to show up for myself and for my community moving forward. Expression sits at the core of dance, and we danced. We shared joy, love, and togetherness.

Soon after, I spent time with friends in San Francisco. I explored the city in a new way, seeing it through the eyes of people who mean a lot to me. Back in New York, I saw the musical Redwoods, and one song, “Still,” stayed with me. There’s a part in it that says:

Those words settled deep. They became a heartbeat in my own work. They reminded me all year that even when life turns in unexpected directions, “I still have the time, I still have the breath. So, while I'm still alive, live.”

I also spent two weeks in Thailand with my mom this year. We saw temples that seemed to hum with peace. We floated through warm water with bright fish at our feet. We stood close to elephants and felt something gentle pass between us. Buddhism, in its simplicity, made me reflect on what matters. Presence. Gratitude. Connection to the land. I carried those lessons back home and into the farm's soil.

Then came EDC Las Vegas, the biggest music festival of my life. If you told me a few years ago I’d love EDM, I’d have laughed. But I found something beautiful there. Thousands of people from everywhere, moving to one beat under the open sky. It taught me that people need places to feel alive. Places that let you be loud, be quiet, be curious. Little did I know then, but it was a lesson in experiences and expression that is now rooted at the farm.

After the festivals and travel came a quiet time alone. Simple days full of thinking and long walks. I wondered what the next chapter of my life would look like. I knew something needed to change; I didn’t know how. Then came an email about a piece of land in Broome County. It felt like the world whispering yes. Everything since has been shaped by that moment.

This land has grown into something beyond a project. It has become a place to gather, heal, celebrate, and create. I opened the gates to visitors who came to watch Highland cows and sheep grazing in the grass. I hosted campfires and watched family bonds grow stronger beneath the stars. I planted pieces of gardens my family tended for years and brought them back to life here.

Throughout the year, I shared stories that shaped the farm. I welcomed new animals. I hosted open days where children fed goats and adults found calm walking the fields. I celebrated kindness through memorials and sponsorships that keep loved ones remembered at the farm. I explored new partnerships, introduced Rooted in Kindness, and invited people to be part of something unfolding from the heart.

Looking back, every moment of this year moved toward the same truth: joy matters, people matter, nature matters. When all three come together, a farm becomes more than land. It becomes a rhythm. A breath. A community.

Thank you for standing with me through this year of motion, discovery, risk, and reward. The journey continues, and I am grateful you are walking beside me. Here’s to the year ahead at Farm in Broome. A year of growth. A year of connection. A journey of becoming even more rooted in who we are.

Rest. Reflect. Grow.

Steven

TOP FARM MOMENTS IN 2025

Looking back on 2025, we’re filled with gratitude for the moments that shaped this place—from buying our very first piece of land, to family coming together, to the animals who’ve taught us patience and trust. There were seasons of quiet winter stillness and reflection, and milestones like finally building the house that makes everything feel real. Each chapter has deepened our connection to the land and reminded us why we chose this slower, more intentional life in the first place.

Farm in Broome Storefront

As we move into the new year, a reminder that our storefront is always open if you’re looking for a meaningful dedication or a simple way to carry the farm with you. Add a chair or a birdhouse to the farm, and create a space for others to rest, reflect, and grow.

We’ll also continue to offer our digital catalog of Farm in Broome–branded goods that you can gift to yourself or others. From mugs and tote bags to cooking spices, candles, and Farm in Broome apparel, these are easy, fun, and affordable ways to share the spirit of the farm while supporting everything that continues to grow here.

Rooted in Kindness

As we settle into the quiet of winter, we’re feeling deeply grateful for everyone who’s walked alongside us this year. Thank you for supporting the farm, the animals, and the stories that live here. We’ll see you again next month—and in the year ahead—with more moments, reflections, and growth to share.

💛
