Meet the Team

🐓 September 2025 🐓

Hey Growers,

Four years ago this August, I lost my dad. He fought Ankavascultus for three long years, and though the disease weakened his body, it never touched his spirit. To me, he was always the world’s strongest man. He raised five boys, each of us wildly different, yet he managed to give us all the same steady hand, the same lessons in resilience, and the same love of family.

I often think about the skills he passed down. How to survive in the woods. How to find adventure in the simplest moments. How to stand by your community. How to put family first. At the time, they felt like little lessons, maybe even chores, but now I see them as gifts. They are the very tools guiding me through this new chapter of building a farm, carving out a place where purpose meets land, and where love leaves its roots.

This past month, my family came back to the farm. Watching them gather here, rolling up sleeves, laughing, lending a hand, reminded me so much of my dad. It felt as if the values he instilled in us are alive and working through each of us as we shape this place together.

The farm is not just mine. It belongs to my family, friends, and to anyone who needs a place to feel grounded and connected. Just as my dad once gave me the tools to grow, I hope this land can offer others the same strength, comfort, and reminder that we are never alone in our journey.

- Steven

Our Latest Milestones

ree

We’ve made significant progress at the farm—installing a water system, running on generator power, moving into a camper, clearing sections of the overgrown forest, building the first animal shelters, and finishing the driveway.

Each step has brought us closer to creating a space where both people and animals can thrive.

Faces of Farm in Broome

Our farm is growing thanks to the hands and hearts of an incredible team. Meet the folks making it all happen.

ALEJANDRO ALBA

Director of Social Media

Alejandro leads the social branding and strategy for Farm in Broome. He is an expert bilingual storyteller with a knack for making things digestible, fun, and engaging. Whether moderating a presidential forum, reporting from Antarctica, or interviewing celebs, he brings energy, curiosity, and a deep love for connecting with audiences. He's moderated a presidential forum with President Joe Biden ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, led coverage of the COP climate conferences in Glasgow and Egypt, and hosted several shows at NowThis. When he's not working, he's writing, connecting with nature, exploring the city, or dissociating by playing video games.

WEI LAN

Creative Lead

Wei led the brand design and website for Farm in Broome.

She developed the visual identity, proposed creative directions, and oversaw storytelling across channels to align with the brand's reflective, nature-inspired tone.

KENNY NGO

P & FG - Plant & Fish Guy

Officially unofficial horticulturist, aquatic ambassador, and all-around dirt whisperer. If it grows, Kenny talks to it. If it swims, Kenny probably named it. Our resident Plant and Fish Guy, Kenny brings a mix of green-thumb magic, pond-side wisdom, and chaotic good energy to the farm. He’s been known to serenade seedlings, build backyard ecosystems out of spare parts, and sneak kale into just about everything.

Whether he’s elbow-deep in soil or giving pep talks to the fish (he swears they listen), Kenny makes sure life at Farm in Broome stays vibrant, wild, and just a little weird—in the best way possible.

Meet the “pawsitive” side of our team—our dogs, who keep us grounded, comforted, and smiling every day.

Stella

CEO & Toy Enforcer

Stella runs a tight ship at Farm in Broome. She’s small, sassy, and certain she’s in charge (because she is). When she’s not inspecting deliveries or policing toy usage, she’s napping with one eye open—just in case someone steps out of line.

ree

Oscar

Emotional Support Director

Oscar brings calm, cuddles, and soulful stares to the team. A quiet thinker and gentle companion, he prefers cozy corners and forehead kisses over chaos. He reminds everyone to slow down, breathe deep, and appreciate the simple joys of farm life.

ree

Chloe

Chief Zoomie Officer

Chloe is the life of the farm—big, bouncy, and bursting with enthusiasm. He specializes in high-speed tail wags, surprise snuggles, and “helping” with anything Stella does. When he’s not chasing shadows or hiding in the shower, he’s making sure no one feels left out.

ree

Amigo

Director of Vibes

Part Chihuahua, part Dachshund, full-time sunbather. When he’s not busy people-watching from his favorite perch, Amigo moonlights as the farm’s unofficial emotional support specialist—especially for the frazzled head of social media.

ree

Lucy

Vice President, Plant & Fish Dog

Lucy may have the shortest legs in the business, but she covers more ground than anyone at Farm in Broome. Endlessly curious and just a little bit mischievous, she can be found inspecting every plant, sniffing around the fish, or sprinting off so you’ll chase her. Her playful spirit and lively energy bring warmth and joy to everyone on the farm.

Step out of the city and into a world of golden leaves, crisp air, and curious animals waiting to say hello. More details to come soon... but know there'll be autumn colors, warm cider, and an opportunity to explore what I’ve been building here at Farm in Broome.
